Dunn, NC: Mrs. Betty Lou Boyd Ellis, age 78, of 75 Lee-Johnson Road passed away Thursday at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Saturday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathan Pearce. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Cemetery, Smithfield.
Mrs. Ellis was born in Johnston County on September 1, 1938 to the late John Henry and Reta Grimes Boyd. She was preceded in death by her late husband, L. J. Ellis; son, Anthony Craig Coville; sister, Peggy Diane Adams. Mrs. Ellis was employed by Carolina Packers. She was a member of Smyrna Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving include husband, Donald B. Ellis of Dunn; children and spouses, David Allan and wife, Dale Graves of Surf City; Rebecca Ann Boyd and husband, Fred Skipper of Virginia; R. Keith Ellis and fiancé, Edna B. Parker of Benson; Wanda E. Thornton of Benson; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-sons; brother, David Wayne Boyd of Bentonsville, SC; sisters, Delores Curl of Garner, Carolyn Adams of Angier, and Johnnie Margaret Boyd of Smithfield; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00PM to 2:45PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.
