Smithfield – Billy Duncan Thompson, age 83, passed away Tuesday August 25, 2020 at his home in Smithfield. He was born in Johnston County on March 19, 1937 to the late Will and Sally Black Thompson.
A private funeral service will be held Friday August 28, 2020 at Selma Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Thompson is survived by wife of 60 years, Jean Thompson of the home; A special son, Mickey Thompson of Smithfield; Daughter, Vickie Jackson and husband Jason of Mount Olive; Brothers, Kenneth Thompson of Smithfield, Carl Thompson of Knightdale; Granddaughter, Ally Jackson, who he loved dearly.
Mr. Thompson was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed giving to others, being outside and working in his yard. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
