Smithfield – Bob Shelton Williams, age 85, passed away at his home in Smithfield on July 7, 2021. Born June 20, 1937 in Wayne County, he was a son of the late Edward and Annie May Pollock Williams. He is preceded in death by his wife 49 years Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Williams; two brothers, Worth Williams and David Williams. Bob attended Church of God of Prophesy in Clayton. Bob worked for Exxon for many years where he was a part of the 2-million-mile club. He also worked for Deacon Jones for many years. He was known to be an excellent Pitt master and he loved his family dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. just prior to the service.
Surviving are his son, Larry Williams and wife Kimberly of Bath; daughter, Debbie Massey and husband Ronnie of Princeton; Mike Smith, nephew, Larry Williams and wife Sandra,David Williams jr. April Lynn Price, grandchildren Matthew Williams, Jason Massey, Alex Lathey, and Cameron Lea, and great granddaughter Avery Jayne Lathey.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Historic Bath Senior Center Project at 3383 Possum Hill Road, Bath, NC, 27808.
