Smithfield – Brenda Kaye Disher Gilmore, age 71 died Wednesday June 23, 2020 in UNC Johnston Health. Born April 30, 1949 in New Hanover, County to the late Charles Eugene and Betty Frances Whitman Disher, she was the widow of Terry Anthony Gilmore and was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Disher and 2 brothers, Buster Disher and Bunky Disher.
Once her children were of school age, she decided to return to school and get her G. E. D. and continued on to receive her Cosmetology Degree from Johnston Community College in 1979.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Dan Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker’s Chapel Church Cemetery near Princeton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Surviving are her son, Michael Anthony Gilmore of Four Oaks; daughters, Teresa K. Everman of Kenly, Lisa Ann Gilmore of Pine Level, April G. Phillips and husband Shane of Smithfield and Kittie Gilmore Jones and husband Davie of Wilson’s Mills; brother, Larry Disher of AR; sisters, Teresa Smith and husband Larry and Connie Hinsley and husband J. W. all of Durham and Nancy Radford of Four Oaks; Eleven Grandchildren, Carol Ann Barbour, Capt. Robert Everman, III, Ashley Massengill, Summer Capps, Jessica Everman, Wynter Brooke Winstead, Hunter Adams, Davie Jones, III, Marrah Jones, Nichols Phillips and Aaron Phillips and Ten Great-grandchildren.
