Benson, NC: Mr. David Thomas Godwin, age, 59, of Tarheel Road died Friday at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, NC. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, January 27, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Ron Byrd and Rev. Scott Johnson. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.
Mr. Godwin was born in Harnett County to Evelyn Lassiter Godwin of Benson and the late Benjamin Franklin Godwin, Sr. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Parker. Mr. Godwin was a retired farmer and member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother include his brother, Benjamin Franklin” Frank” Godwin and wife, Donna of Benson; nieces and nephews, Scott Burdi, Josh Burdi, Benji Godwin and wife, Katlyn; Adrienne Allen and husband, Kelly, Alexa Knight and husband, Justin, Jessica Godwin and fiancé, Robbie Johnson; great-nieces and nephews, Ryan Presley, Ava, Jennings, Annie, Claire and Quinn.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM-10:45 AM, Monday, January 27, 2020 prior to the funeral service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
