Glennwood Whitley “Glenn” Grant, age 91, died Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Meadowview Assisted Living in Smithfield. Born November 13, 1930 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Leonard and Ethel Whitley Grant. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Grant; and sister, Annie Laura Hardee.
Glenn was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He worked for Pepsi-Cola for over 30 years. Upon retirement, he helped around the family farm, L&L Farm, until moving to Meadowview. Glenn was a member of Tee’s Chapel FWB Church where he served as Sunday School teacher, deacon, and sung in the choir. Glenn loved his community and was one of the charter members of Brogden Fire Department and served his community until retirement.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in Tee’s Chapel FWB Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating.
Surviving are his brother, Dwight Grant; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
