Henry Edward Newkirk, Jr., son of the late Henry and Phalia Newkirk, Sr., was born on January 7, 1935, in Sampson County, NC. He departed his life on August 21, 2020. He attended Johnston County Training School in Smithfield, NC. Henry Jr. worked for Guy C Lee Building Materials in Smithfield, NC for over 40 years until his retirement.
Henry Jr. married Mary Coleman (Newkirk) of Wilson County, NC, who preceded him in death on October 27, 1984. God blessed their union with four children.
In addition to his wife, Henry Jr. Is preceded in death by the following: two siblings, Charles Newkirk and Maggie Pearl Sanders and one son, Charles Newkirk.
Henry Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Pamela Newkirk of Smithfield, NC; two sons, Henry Newkirk, III of Smithfield, NC and Marcel Newkirk of Smithfield, NC; five grandchildren, Lekesha Price (Joshua), Jeremy Newkirk (Katina), Deron Newkirk (Tiara), Teena Blue (Tyrone), and Amanda James; nine great-grandchildren, one aunt, Leslie McDowell of Elizabethtown, NC and many cousins and loved ones.
