    Dunn, NC: Mrs. Joann Wiggins Dennis, age 72, of Wordsworth Drive, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn after complications from a stroke. A Celebration of her Life will be 2:00PM-Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Revs. Ottis and Gail Gore will officiate. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

    Mrs. Dennis was born on January 16, 1949 in Harnett County to the late Joseph and Aline Whitman Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Moore; siblings, Ronald Wiggins, RayVon Wiggins, Janice Lockamy and Brenda Horne. She worked hard all her life. Mrs. Dennis worked on the farm with her family as a young adult, cleaned houses, worked at Sylvania Industries, Erwin Mills, several restaurants and grills. Mrs. Dennis loved nothing more than spending time with her family, cooking, going to church, she had a passion for singing including at the Benson Singing Convention with her family and the group The Harmony Four, going to the mountains, playing bingo, and enjoying all kinds of food. Her favorite time of year was Christmas; making candy, baking all sorts of sweets, cakes, fruitcakes, chocolate eclairs and so much more.

    Surviving include her husband, Kenneth L. Dennis of Dunn; her children, Randy Moore and wife, Terri of Benson, Jeff Moore and wife, Amy of Dunn, Jan Temple and partner, Brian Narron of Dunn; step-son, Oliver Dennis and wife, Christie of Broadway; brothers-in-law, Bobby Horne of Benson, Jerry Wilks of Raleigh, sisters-in-law, Caroline Wiggins of Benson and Kathy Kennedy and husband, Brian of Dunn; her cherished eight grandchildren and their significant others; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends 12:30PM to 1:30PM on Wednesday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral in Benson and other times at the home.

    In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
