Judieth Faye Morris, 76, passed away peacefully into the waiting arms of Jesus on Monday morning, January 18, 2021. While there will be no visitation, there will be a graveside burial service on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 2pm at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1459 White Memorial Church Road, Willow Spring, NC 27592. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests expressions of sympathy, in memory of Judy, be made to White Memorial Church.
Post COVID, the family plans to host a huge celebration of life in the Fellowship Hall in true Judy Morris fashion: FAMILY, FOOD, FELLOWSHIP and FUN!
Judy had a big personality and a laugh that would light up a room. She loved her family and friends fiercely. She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, working out at the gym, mowing with her zero-turn, and spending time with family and friends. Judy was an excellent cook and will be best remembered for her brownies, pound cakes, pecan pies and chocolate pies. She loved her White Memorial Church family and served in many capacities to ensure her community knew Jesus through her daily actions. Her nephew said it best, “Aunt Judy lived at the foot of the cross”. She gave 48 years to the state of North Carolina in public service in the Department of Transportation where she made many lifelong friends, especially in Stephanie King and Wayne Rogers. In addition, she also worked in the restaurant of the Jim Graham building cooking for the masses alongside her sidekick, Denise Lyons, at the NC State Fairgrounds.
She was born December 8, 1944 in Johnston County, NC to Wingate and Agnes Morris. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Glen and Kenneth Lee Morris; and brother-in-love, Billy Best.
Judy is survived by her loving sisters, Helen Best and Irene (Buddy) Brooks; niece Marian Brooks and nephews Max Morris, Greg (Jenny) Morris, Derek (Sheila) Brooks and Rodney Best; great nieces Sophie Morris, Demi Brooks, Raelin Brooks and Dax Brooks; great nephew Noah Morris and BFF (best friend forever), Margaret King.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Johnston Health, Clayton for their kindness and compassion when caring for Judy. Judy felt blessed that Rodney works at the facility and she took great comfort in his daily visits to keep the family updated.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
