Mary Medlin Puckett, age 101, of Smithfield passed away on July 8, 2017. Born in Johnston County on April 20, 1916, she was the daughter of the late James Ernest and Mary Eason Medlin. Mrs. Puckett was preceded in death by her husband Luther Puckett and a daughter Phyllis Godwin. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church near Clayton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, at 2:00 PM in Bethesda Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Burden officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
Surviving are her son, Luther Puckett, Jr. of Pine Level; daughter Carol Stallings of Smithfield; grandchildren Chris Jones, Neal Jones, Greg Godwin and Jeffrey Godwin; and four great grandchildren.
