Coats, NC: Mr. Michael Wayne Ammons, age 52, of 1361 Crawford Road died Sunday at his residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at South Erwin Baptist Church in Erwin. Officiating will be Rev. Turner Matthews and Rev. Charles Price. Entombment will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mr. Ammons was born June 20, 1964 in Cumberland County to Catherine Blackmon Ammons of Smithfield and the late Dewey Ammons. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Velvet Blake. Mr. Ammons was a manager at Godwin Manufacturing in Dunn and was a member of South Erwin Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are wife, Sharon Ellis Ammons; sons & daughter-in-law, Matthew & Jenna Ammons of Erwin and Corey Ammons of Coats; and brother & sister-in-law, Tommy & Lisa Ammons of Dunn.
The family will receive friends at South Erwin Baptist Church, 144 Old Cut Off Road, Erwin, NC from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday and other times at the home.
