Clayton, NC: Rev. Steve Drew Reed, age 62, died Friday, December 13, 2019 at Baptist Hospital South in Florida. Funeral Service will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Rose and Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson, NC.
Officiating will be Rev. Dwayne Batten, Princeton Baptist and Rev. Alan Taylor, NC Baptist Association Director of Missions, Robeson County. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Rev. Reed was born in Cobb County on October 2, 1957 to his biological mom, Betty Ketchens. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Mary Reed and brother, David Ketchens.. He was the Pastor of United Faith Christian Church in Selma and a reporter with the Johnstonian News.
Surviving include his wife of 13 years, Elaine Barbour Reed; daughters, Amanda Reed Francisco and husband, Mark, Jamie Reed, and Erin Denning Clark and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Abby Clark, Zac Clark, and Nolan Francisco ( due in May); brother, Rick McClure; Darla Reed, mother of Jamie and Amanda; Darla Reed; mother-in-law, Joyce Barbour, mother-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM, Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home, 169 North Farm Drive, Clayton, NC 27527.
