Selma – Vance Elmo Joyner, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, in UNC Johnston Health of Clayton. He was born on November 14, 1944, a son of the late Mortice and Pearl Joyner in Vance County. He is preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Barbara Jean Joyner. During his later years Vance enjoyed woodworking and watching his livestock.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton. Family and friends can pay their respects on Friday from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will not be present at the funeral home during this time.
He is survived by his sons, Philip D. Joyner of Selma, and Ronald L. Joyner (wife Gail) of Benson, grandchildren, Justin D. Joyner, Kevin L. Joyner, Holly D. Joyner, Jane E. Joyner, four great-grandchildren and special companion, Elaine Lowrey.
