Selma – Vickie Brown Medlin, age 63, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Born June 6, 1958 in Wilson County she was a daughter of Samuel and Ida Collier Brown of Selma. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lanny Medlin; and brother, Gary Brown.

Vickie was a graduate from North Johnston High School and member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield. She taught Sunday school, children’s church and played piano for the church for many years. She owned Vickie’s Flowers and things for over twenty-five years where she enjoyed taking care of her clients and their flowers, bushes and grass. She spent countless hours in her rose garden and flower beds. She loved life and her Lord. She also enjoyed tennis, horses and other animals as well as collecting antiques. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandson and singing to him. She loved her dog Squirrel. She was a very outgoing person and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial will follow in the Brown- Hall Cemetery in Selma. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

In addition to her parents, Vickie is survived by her daughter; Danielle Medlin; step-son, Jeremy Medlin; brother, Andy Brown and wife Jenny of Selma; sisters, Rhonda Raper of Kenly and Angie Jones and husband Jerry of Selma; grandson, Easton Dunham; nieces, Christy, April, Erica, Amanda and Holly; and nephew, Samuel.
