The Clayton Chamber of Commerce has named Kaitlin Olive from East Clayton Elementary School as their Super Start Teacher for the month of April.
Super Start teachers are selected for demonstrating excellence and leadership in their classroom, creativity, motivating their students, and for showing a high level of commitment to our community.
Olive enjoys using real life applications to provide quality instruction and support for her students. She volunteered this year to be a part of the Bring Your Own Device initiative, which allows students to bring their own technology devices into the classroom. She recently served as the director for the school drama Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs giving countless hours of her time to make sure it was a success.
Olive serves on the School Improvement Team and is a lead teacher for Project Leap that is developing algebra readiness for students. With a great sense of humor and a positive attitude, Olive brightens school days for all of her students and coworkers.
