NEWTON GROVE – A passenger died from injuries sustained in a single vehicle traffic accident in Sampson County. The accident was reported at 11:54pm Saturday on Suttontown Road near Dallie Road, eight miles southeast of Newton Grove.
The State Highway Patrol said a 2002 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on Suttontown Road when it ran off the roadway and overturned, ejecting the unrestrained passenger.
The driver, identified as Aricelda Robloero Morales, age 35, of Mount Olive was transported to WakeMed for treatment of her injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.
Troopers are still working to identify the deceased passenger.
Charges against Morales are pending.
