Pay-What-You-Can Grocery Truck To Make Weekly Stops In Clayton

Mobile Market Returns With Discount Groceries in March

CLAYTON, N.C. — As grocery prices remain high across North Carolina, Clayton residents will have multiple opportunities this month to purchase fresh food at reduced prices.

Ripe for Revival’s mobile market truck will make weekly stops in Clayton throughout March. The market offers fresh produce, meat and dairy at prices approximately 30% below traditional grocery stores through a pay-what-you-can model.

The truck will be set up at 411 N. Fayetteville St. from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the following Mondays:

March 9
March 16
March 23
March 30

Organizers say the mobile market is designed to support families in communities where access to affordable groceries can be limited. The pay-what-you-can model allows customers to select the items they need and contribute what they are able, helping stretch household food budgets while reducing food waste.

The market is open to the public during each scheduled stop, and no registration is required.

  1. Clayton is probably the highest income area of Johnston county. How about spreading the love to all areas of joco. Make a rotation of days so people know what days they can find them in their area.

    • It’s ultimately a business model. If they go through all the “poor” areas, they wouldn’t get as much “extra” income to contribute to the “less fortunate”.

  2. The SOCIALSTS are live and we’ll in Clayton! What’s next? Pay-what-you-want at the hospital? At the gas station? This goes against EVERYTHING this country stands for! #MAGA #StopSocialism

    • Very true the City of Clayton like most US Cities are all liberals. City of Clayton fits that bill. They gave their old Animal Shelter to a “church “ because the animals were very badly treated. They now run a food bank out of there that the food is stacked to the roof.

    • It’s a charity. You don’t have any problem with charity, do you?

It seems, like most charities, that they put a lot of thought and effort into soliciting, but that isn’t unusual either.

      • Charity begets charity. Next, you’ll want to give people a guaranteed basic income, like they do in SOCUALIST Europe. #helpYourself

    • Your just made their not in your service area😢😢😂😂😂 they are trying to start something in the area to give to the community sheesh

      • @William: It trains people to be reliant on others instead of themselves. It is as un-American as you can get! #MAGA

  3. Right down the road and edge of Town is Wilson Mills “less income” and lower property values (lots of mobile homes) and Smithfield (also more JoCo central) and represents some of the underserved communities.

And lots of people don’t have transportation to Clayton (but with Clayton’s poor parking situation – where will people outside the community park?).

And to the person who said “you are just mad, cause it’s not on your are) – it Did NOT STATE – YOU MUST BE A CLAYTON RESIDENT TO PARTICIPATE.

Maybe I should transport families in to participate that really need help.

I can drop them off at 2nd street ….
