SELMA – The Town of Selma has postponed a water outage that had been planned for Wednesday. A new date has not been announced.
Crews had planned to turn off water to all homes on Lizzie Mill Road from the railroad tracks to Seafood House Road from 9AM until 4PM Wednesday.
According to Matthew Morris, Utility System Operator for the Town of Selma Water Plant, a new water line relocation is required for the new bridge being installed on Lizzie Street crossing over I-95. The new line is in the place but the water has to be turned off to tie in to the new line on both sides of the bridge. While that work is underway, a new water tap will also be installed on the new water line to provide water service to the I-95 Rest Areas.
However, a part needed for the new water line did not arrive in time and the work has been delayed.
