Racial Slur Spray Painted On School Property

CLAYTON – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two incidents of vandalism at Swift Creek Middle School on Norris Road near Clayton.  Someone spray painted graffiti, including a racial slur, on schools grounds during one of two incidents reported July 7th and August 27th.

In the first incident, the parking lot and football field were spray painted with graffiti.  Vandals also spray painted the n-word on the parking lot.  During the second incident graffiti was painted on the football field.

An attempted break-in was reported at the concession stand and the door handle was broken.  School staff cleaned up the damage from both incidents.

Authorities believe two vandalism incidents could be connected and suspect that juveniles may be responsible. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
