Raleigh Road Railroad Crossing To Close July 27 For Maintenance

BENSON, N.C. — Motorists who travel Raleigh Road just off U.S. 301 near Benson should plan for detours as a railroad crossing will temporarily close for maintenance.

The railroad crossing on Raleigh Road is scheduled to close at 7:00 a.m. Monday, July 27, and is expected to reopen by noon on Thursday, July 30, according to officials.

The closure will be a complete shutdown, with no vehicles allowed to cross the tracks while maintenance work is underway.

Drivers will be required to use alternate routes during the project. Detour signs will be posted to guide motorists around the closure.

Officials said motorists should expect longer travel times and delays and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
