Residents in one northern Johnston County subdivision are being encouraged to keep their car doors locked following a rash of car break-ins.
The thefts were reported over the Labor Day Weekend in the Buffalo Creek subdivision off Thanksgiving Fire Department Road, north of Highway 42.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office says at least 9 vehicles were broken into, including several on Hunter Lane.
Authorities were able to recover some evidence but have not been able to make any arrests. Officials said all the vehicles were parked in the driveways of homes and all had been left unlocked.
