The 2015 Johnston County Relay for Life Event was a big success.
A total of $285,000 was raised from the weekend fundraiser in Smithfield for the American Cancer Society.
Ashley Wickline, Community Manager, for the American Cancer Society, said monies from the Relay will continue to be collected through August.
The goal is to raise $340,000 this year.
An estimated 10,000 people participated in the Johnston County Relay for Life.
