Narcotics agents with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people during a traffic stop on Highway 301 near Keen Street in the Four Oaks city limits.
One of the suspects, Austin Lee Cardone, 30, of Dodd McLamb Road, Four Oaks had been the focus of a three month narcotics investigation. Cardone was arrested Tuesday afternoon during the traffic stop. Nine grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine was reportedly found in his possession. A second person, Alissa Cattano Hobson, 20, (unknown address), Four Oaks was arrested after suspected meth was also found in her possession.
Cardone was charged with maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, simple possession of a controlled substance and felony parole violation. He was held without bond at the Johnston County Jail on the parole violation warrant. Cardone was given an additional $40,000 bond on the drug charges.
Hobson was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine. She was incarcerated under a $10,000 bond at the Johnston County Jail.
