The man arrested by Goldsboro Police this week and charged with last December’s armed robbery of a Family Dollar Store in Wayne County has now been linked to a sexual assault.
Quentin Bryce Barnes, 31, of N. George Street, Goldsboro was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop by Goldsboro Police. Prior to the traffic stop, police had received a report from a female victim she had been sexually assaulted at a location on Olivia Lane.
Police said Friday that Barnes was at the victim’s residence earlier in the day Wednesday when he attempted to sexually assault her in front of the woman’s young child. The victim was able to fight off Barnes and call for help at which time Barnes fled, according to a press release.
Barnes faces new charges of attempted second degree sex offense, assault on a female and communicating threats. His bond was increased by an additional $150,000 to a total of $925,000.
He is also facing unrelated charges for crimes in Wake and Pitt counties.
