US Congressman David Rouzer (R-NC) will be hosting a youth leadership conference for high school juniors in the 7th Congressional District this Wednesday, October 18th. The 2017 Seventh Congressional District Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurial Conference provides two juniors from each high school in the district, including Johnston County, an opportunity to meet with entrepreneurial leaders, discuss ways to achieve entrepreneurial success and develop the necessary personal and professional skills to achieve goals.
The event will be held Wednesday from 9:00am until 3:00pm at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center at 414 Warsaw Road in Clinton.
This conference is being conducted in coordination with North Carolina State University’s General Hugh Shelton Leadership Center as well as participation of the UNC Wilmington Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In addition to a lineup of speakers — including Marsha Prestage of Prestage Farms and Colonel J. Quincy Collins, USAF (retired), former Prisoner of War — the conference will provide students the opportunity to engage in activities focused on values-based leadership.
Every high school in the 7th District was given the opportunity to participate in the 2017 7th Congressional District Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurial Conference. The method and criteria used for selection of these students was up to each respective school. This is the third Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurial Conference hosted by Congressman David Rouzer.
