A second fire at the same address within a month is being treated as suspicious.
On Saturday, a passing motorist called 911 after spotting smoke and flames coming from a doublewide mobile home in the 800 block of Glen Laurel Road near Vinson Road in Clayton. The fire appears to have begun in the area of the front porch.
About a month ago, a fire damaged the same mobile home No one was at home at the time of Saturday’s fire, which resulted in the home being declared a total loss.
The Clayton, Archer Lodge and Wilson’s Mills Fire Departments responded to the fire. Johnston County EMS stood by at the scene. Clayton Police assisted with traffic control.
The Clayton Fire Marshal is being assisted by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation. No injuries were reported.
