ARCHER LODGE – An investigation into a domestic-related attempted homicide took a strange twist when the victim in the case was arrested days later alongside the suspect.
Johnny Brian Guin, age 46, of Keen Street, Four Oaks is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Hallie Boivin Sherrill, age 24, of Amsterdam Drive, Archer Lodge is charged with obstructing justice.
On October 27 around 8:07am, Sherill and a 20 year-old Clayton man were reportedly traveling in a car in the 6400 block of Covered Bridge Road while being followed by Guin in a second vehicle. Guin allegedly opened fire with a gun, striking Sherill’s vehicle several times. Luckily, Sherill and the 20 year-old male passenger were not struck.
Guin, identified as Sherill’s ex-boyfriend, had reportedly been attempting to evade apprehension since the shooting incident.
On Nov. 4, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received a tip Guin was at a hotel in the Clayton area. The sheriff’s office STAR team made entry into a hotel room and arrested Guin. Authorities also found Hallie Sherill, the alleged shooting victim, with Guin in the same room.
Both Guin and Sherill were held without bond.
No injuries were reported to the two victims, or other motorists traveling on Covered Bridge Road, on Oct. 27.
