Slick Roads Cause Multiple Crashes

JOHNSTON COUNTY – Snow and ice covered roadways across Johnston County have caused numerous accidents since snowfall began on Wednesday.

The State Highway Patrol has responded to numerous accidents.

Among the crashes, a pickup traveled off NC 39 North near Bailey-Boykin Road colliding with a house. The home sustained significant damage. A Johnston County Building Inspector responded and deemed the residence unsafe for occupancy.

Not far away, a car ran off Highway 42 east of Highway 39 and collided with a tree.

State troopers and the NC Department of Transportation urge drivers to remain off roadways until conditions improve.

  1. 😫😫😫😫I was one of the ones that slid off the road into a guard rail on 70 coming home from work only men can understand that pain I felt I cried like a baby woke up crying 🤣🤣🤣🤣I worked so hard for it stayed out of trouble for it and just got it like 3 months ago lol I felt like my world came crashing to an end 💀💀💀I’m OK but still that hurt my soul bad to see it on the back of that flat bed getting hauled off lol I was in the front of the Wilson mills police car trying to hold back my emotions 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣yall be safe man life crazy

  2. Next time y’all PLEASSSEE stop laying on your brakes everytime you hit a patch of ice!!! Just go slow and coast over it! This was so scary!
