Smithfield Man Faces 18 Felony Drug Charges

SMITHFIELD – A Smithfield man is facing a lengthy list of felony charges after an investigation by the Smithfield Police Department. Officers arrested 43-year-old Jaquan Montez Wilson on Nov. 13 following a narcotics operation that police say has been underway for some time.

According to investigators, Wilson is charged with six counts of selling or delivering cocaine, six counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, and six counts of manufacturing, selling, delivering or possessing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school. Police identified the school as Johnston-Lee Head Start on Massey Street.

The department said the investigation is ongoing and that additional arrests are likely as detectives continue their work.
