Social Security Matters – Will “DOGE” Hurt Our Social Security Or Medicare Benefits?

Dear Worried Senior: Here at the AMAC Foundation, we offer free access to everyone, the public as well as AMAC members, for our acclaimed Social Security Advisory Service, at which we answer all inquiries from anyone with questions about Social Security and enrollment in Medicare. As you can imagine, we very closely watch all action in Washington, D.C. which will affect Social Security and Medicare, especially any Congressional legislation being considered.
The new “DOGE” (Department of Government Efficiency) organization is tasked with uncovering and eliminating fraud and waste in all areas of the Federal Government, and that includes Social Security and Medicare. But the important thing to remember is that DOGE is seeking only to discover fraud and government waste.
Recently a great deal of visibility has been given to DOGE’s efforts to discover potential fraud (and waste) in the Social Security Administration. Everything we have seen thus far indicates that DOGE’s efforts have identified opportunities for reducing fraud and waste at the Social Security Administration, so our expectation is that DOGE’s efforts will tend to help the Social Security Administration become more efficient but not endanger anyone’s Social Security benefits. Indeed, President Trump and the DOGE team have repeatedly said that no cuts in Social Security benefits will occur as a result of DOGE’s efforts. Reducing fraud and waste at the SSA would tend to improve the agency’s financial posture and improve their ability to pay full benefits longer. The same is true for Medicare. Actually, DOGE is very transparent and posts everything they find on this website: www.doge.gov. A quick look at this website reveals that none of what they have found at the SSA indicates any threat to SS or Medicare benefits.
I suggest that any negative news media and social media accounts of DOGE’s activities be taken with a grain of salt. All such articles are largely meant to attract attention to unlikely “doomsday” scenarios. The reality is that our government is over $36 trillion in debt, and that debt is growing, which is an unsustainable financial path for our country. DOGE is specifically tasked with eliminating the deficit gap by reducing frivolous government spending and fraud. But reducing crucial benefits for seniors on Social Security and Medicare are NOT part of DOGE’s efforts, nor their goal.
Rest assured that here at the AMAC Foundation we are watching all current DOGE efforts very closely and will vigorously oppose anything which will negatively affect Social Security and Medicare. Indeed, AMAC’s stated goal is to strengthen and preserve Social Security for all future generations.

Thanks Mr. Gloor for your response to “Worried Senior”. I assure you the question you have answered is on many minds of SSA recipients. Especially after the lies and unscrupulous deeds the former administration and media have tried to sell to people of the USA. I look forward to and enjoy reading your articles. Finally someone telling the truth about Media outlets wanting to scare people. Rusty, Thanks for making that clear to people that have a hard time believing the MSM is our enemy during this administration term.
Please don’t sugarcoat the dire situation that both social security and Medicaid are in right now. I can tell by your wording that you are a trump supporter. The real world and these people’s lives is not the place to ooze your gushing feelings for Velveeta Voldemort. This is the time and place to be realistic with the people, especially the vulnerable in this community. Be honest with people. Tell them that the budget bill, if passed, will greatly affect them. Tell them that it will cost 500k jobs in this state. Tell them that it will cause 11 hospitals and 45 clinics to close in this state. Tell them it will cause 300k North Carolinians to lose Medicaid coverage. And then tell them which ones of their representatives voted for it. Tell them not only is their healthcare getting disseminated but that if they make less than $15k/yr that they will have a 74% tax rate increase by 2031. This is not the time to just eat whatever you’re being fed. Do independent research and report honestly or just don’t report at all. Fat Nixon isn’t doing anything to enrich, benefit, or better ANYONE in this country outside of the top 1%. DOGE was a group of high school and college computer hackers that were allowed access to information about government contracts. If they were looking for waste and fraud why did they NOT cut the DoD? Because Musk gets his money from there. There were 12 different agencies that were investigating Musk. Now those agencies have been dismantled and well what do you know those investigations are gone too! Wake up! Smell the heaping pile of sh*t that’s going to hurt so many North Carolinians.

Think about it — If it is more truthful than what the last administration put out, we are making progress!!!! The most lying, deceiving administration of my lifetime! Now all of a sudden they have discovered Biden has prostate cancer! HMMMMMMM!
The people that are successful financially are the ones with cool heads and patience. They don’t believe everything they see on tv and use their own research and discretion with their money. Those who are usually unsuccessful financially listen to everything, panic and spend a dollar trying to save a dime. This goes for companies as well

Any problem with Social Security was there long before the current administration. The current administration is trying to save it! As for A. Anderson, typical liberal, the sky is falling because their person didn’t win. The go along to get along attitude of the last administration was certainly going to lead to a doomsday.
Hopefully, any Medicaid cuts will be on wasteful spending. I remember when Medicaid wouldn’t cover braces unless they were medically necessary. Now any kid on Medicaid can get them, while people who don’t qualify, can’t afford them. Honestly, I KNOW many of the kids receiving Medicaid don’t have parents who are citizens, but yet their kids are walking around with Medicaid braces!!! It’s infuriating! Yes, those kids are citizens, however when you have parents who aren’t it is really easy to qualify!! So tell me, is that fair?????
It’s time we start looking after our children and cut the waste. I for one don’t agree that any child on Medicaid must have parents who are legally here. The kicker is that it is really difficult to verify wages if people aren’t here legally!!!
