SMITHFIELD – A local church, two businesses and one home have been damaged by spray paint vandals. The damage was discovered Tuesday.
Gang-style graffiti and profanity was spray painted at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Studio TK  and Byrd’s Wholesale on Highway 70 Business just west of Swift Creek Road. The brick wall of a home on Juniper Drive was also spray painted.  Vandals also damaged two work trucks parked at Byrd’s Wholesale.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incidents. One victim said they believes some juveniles who live in the area are responsible. No charges have been filed.
