Stop Sticks End High Speed Pursuit

GOLDSBORO – A wanted person was apprehended following a high speed chase.  On September 3rd, a deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force stopped a car for a violation.  During the traffic stop the driver provided a false name but the officer recognized the man as Da’Shaun Tyree Webb.

Webb, 25, of Goldsboro was wanted on outstanding warrants including an arrest warrant for armed robbery.

Webb fled from the traffic stop leading law enforcement officers on a high speed chase. Eventually, stop sticks were deployed ending the car chase, but Webb jumped and ran on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit, he was captured.        

Webb was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, speeding 115 mph in a 70 mph zone, speeding 115 mph in a 55 mph zone, speeding 115 mph in a 45 mph zone, speeding 56 mph in a 35 mph zone, resisting an officer, felony possession of a controlled substance (MDMA/ecstasy) , destroying criminal evidence, littering, reckless driving to endanger, failure to maintain lane control, carrying a concealed gun, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.   

Webb was held on a $116,500 secured bond at the Wayne County Detention Center.
