Suspect Charged In Death Of 2 Year-Old

Goldsboro Police announced this afternoon (Monday) the arrest of a suspect in the death of a 2 year-old child. On March 31st at 11:35pm, Goldsboro Police and Wayne County EMS were dispatched to Day Circle for a report of an unresponsive child. The child was rushed to Wayne UNC Health where she was pronounced deceased.

Goldsboro Police Detectives responded to the scene and launched an investigation.

Today, a murder warrant was issued for Rodgerick Alando Jones, 29, of Kinston regarding the death of the 2 year-old. Jones was taken into custody this afternoon and held without bond at the Wayne County Detention Center.

Investigators have not released any additional details including how the child died.
