SMITHFIELD – Police detectives have linked a 29 year-old man to a sexual assault and two residential break-ins.
Alejandro Remigio Palacios, who has addresses in Smithfield and Charlotte, NC, was located in the Garner area Monday afternoon and arrested on warrants from the Smithfield Police Department.
On Saturday, June 14 around 5:56am, Palacios is alleged to have gone to a home on North Street. The female juvenile victim was coerced into allowing Palacios into the home. Once inside the victim was allegedly assaulted.
The suspect was acquainted with the family of the victim. Once he learned police had been contacted he fled.
Palacios reportedly broke into a nearby home on North Street and hid for several hours. The homeowner returned home and located Palacios in their residence. He fled before police arrived.
Palacios is charged with felony breaking and entering, misdemeanor breaking and entering, felony indecent liberties with a minor, and sexual battery.
Palacios was held under a $1,005,000 bond at the Johnston County Detention Center in Smithfield.
No additional details were disclosed due to the victim being a juvenile.

Exactly. I sent an email to Joco News a few weeks back asking this same question but got no reply. Is it that Joco Sheriff’s Dept is listing it this way or is it Joco News??? Inquiring minds like me want to know. Thank you, Guess Who, for asking again.
t’s not some secret agenda it’s standard data reporting. ‘Hispanic’ is categorized as an ethnicity, not a race, so someone can be both Hispanic and racially white or Black. That’s how federal and state systems have recorded it for years. Maybe try a quick Google search before firing off conspiracy theories to the news.
Learn race vs ethnicity. There is black hispanic people and white hispanic people.
I also wonder why the mugshots quit listing weight and height?

I inquired at the Johnson County sheriffs office. They said they only classified people as black or white!

Why is it that when you look at the mug shots, all the hispanic people are listed at “white” for race?
It’s a political thing. When cooper then Stein was AG, he made two choices under race B or W. There is another block lower down on arrest report that says National origin and another that says “ Hispanic yes or no” you just see the snapshot on the Joco report. The Dems did this in an effort to make it look more equal of who is committing crimes, it brings up the number of “ white” .

On arrest and other govt. forms for last few decades the white race is/has been divided in two categories…. Hispanic and non-Hispanic. This is not new…
