The Johnston County Fire Marshal and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fire on Easter Sunday that damaged a home near Princeton.
The blaze was reported on Boon Hill Drive off Old Rock Quarry Road.
The occupants of the home were away from home when a fire started on their rear deck. The fire was reported by a neighbor. Fire crews were able to contain the blaze before it could spread inside the home. Damaged was placed at nearly $6,000.
Officials said there was no grill or any combustible items on the deck when the fire broke out.
No injuries were reported.
