SELMA – A fully loaded tanker truck filled with both diesel and gasoline overturned on NC 96, just north of Little Divine Road, on Friday evening, causing a seven hour road closure.
A witness who was following the big truck, said the truck rolled over multiple times before coming to rest on its side in nearly the exact location of another tanker crash last August.
The driver was transported to Wake Med for treatment.
Despite rolling over, the five tanks in the trailer only leaked only about 20 gallons of fuel. The remaining fuel was pumped out of the trailer into another tanker.
Recovery crews along with the North Side Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, Johnston County Emergency Management, the Department of Transportation and others, remained on the scene until about 12:30am when the roadway was finally reopened,
