KENLY – For the second time in three months, a tractor trailer overturned on the northbound side of Interstate 95 near Exit 107 in Kenly. The latest accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. today (Wednesday).
A semi, loaded with fresh blackberries, was heading to New York when the driver struck a guard rail on a bridge. The large truck overturned on its side down an embankment.

The driver and only occupant, Sumit Singh of New York, suffered minor injuries and was able to climb out of the big truck. He was transported to UNC Health in Smithfield with minor injuries.
The accident led to an eight hour cleanup, closing one northbound lane and shutting down the I-95 exit to US 301 at Kenly.

The State Highway Patrol charged Singh with driving while impaired, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane control.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
