On Saturday, May 4th an Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held for Eagle Scout Joshua Frederick Griffin from Boy Scout Troop 726 of Clayton at Hocutt Baptist Church.
For his Eagle Scout project, Joshua received approval from the Town of Clayton to build and install benches near the Disc Golf Course at East Clayton Community Park on Glen Laurel Road. Josh’s addition of 9 benches along the course will serve as a resting place for park goers for many years to come.
During his Eagle Scout Ceremony, Josh was presented with the Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award from Eagle Scout Coordinator Lewis W. Rice III from the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment 1236.
Joshua is the son of Eric and Amy Griffin of Clayton. He is currently a sophomore at Clayton High School and is a member of the marching band. He is currently the Chaplain’s Aid for Troop 726 of Clayton. He has earned 36 merit badges on his trail to Eagle going above and beyond the required 21 merit badges, therefore Josh also was awarded the Bronze, Gold, and Silver Eagle Palms.
