Troopers Investigating Buffalo Road Crash

The NC Highway Patrol is investigating a weekend crash that sent three people to the hospital.  It happened Saturday night on Buffalo Road north of Selma.

Initial reports indicate a 707 horsepower high performance Jeep Trackhawk crossed the centerline in a curve and struck a Ford F-250 pickup truck headed in the opposite direction.  After the impact, the Jeep collided a ditch, went airborne, struck a tree then spun back into the roadway.  Speed appeared to be a contributing factor. The F-250 ran off the roadway.

The driver and two passengers in the Jeep were transported to Wake Medical Center for injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Johnston County EMS was assisted by the Selma and Thanksgiving Fire Departments at the scene.

Charges are pending.
