Two people were arrested today (Thursday) for the murder of a Harnett County man two months ago.
The body of 49 year-old Phillip Sauls was found in the backyard of his home at 12549 NC Highway 42 in Harnett County on October 19th.
Harnett County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Joshua Mark Eason, 32, and Timothy Shawn Brown, 35, both of 848 South River Road, Lillington earlier today.
Both suspects have been charged with first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. Both were confined in the Harnett County Detention Center this afternoon without bail.
Agent said today, the vehicle that the suspects were operating on the date of Sauls murder was seized on Dec. 11th and a search warrant was issued on the vehicle. Authorities would not say what if any evidence was found in the vehicle. However, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s home at 848 South River Road this morning.
Detectives said it appears Sauls was killed during a robbery. They would not say how they linked Eason and Brown to the homicide. Photos by John Payne
