Two people were transported to the hospital following a two car accident early-Monday morning on the US 70 Clayton Bypass. The collision occurred near the Ranch Road exit.
Reports indicate a passenger car ran off the Bypass and struck a guardrail then collided with a second vehicle. The second car sustained only minor damage.
The Clayton Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, and NC Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Troopers are investigating whether slick tires may have contributed to the Labor Day Monday crash. Photos by John Payne
