DUNN, N.C. — Two people were killed and two others were wounded in an early morning shooting outside a downtown Dunn bar Sunday.
Dunn Police responded to 601 Bar, 601 N. Fayetteville Ave., around 1: 30 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they encountered a large crowd gathered outside the business. Additional officers from the Erwin Police Department and the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office were called in to assist with crowd control and secure the scene.

Police confirmed that two people died at the scene, while two additional victims were shot and transported for treatment. Authorities said the surviving victims’ injuries were not considered life-threatening.
According to the Dunn Daily Record, investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an argument outside the bar.
The victims who died were identified as Jarvis Elliott of Erwin and Travis Williams of Dunn.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Dunn Police Department with the investigation. As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests had been announced.
In a statement posted on social media Sunday, 601 Bar said it was “deeply saddened and heartbroken” by the tragedy, noting the shooting occurred outside in the parking lot after the business had closed. The business said its thoughts are with the victims, their families and everyone affected by the incident.
The establishment also said it is fully cooperating with local authorities during the investigation and asked the public to rely on information released by law enforcement as the case moves forward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
