The Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to avoid the intersection of US 301 and US 70 in Selma overnight tonight (Thursday) and Friday night as repairs are made. 
Crews will be performing pavement repairs, including milling down the old pavement and repaving, within the intersection. All the work will be completed between 10 pm and 6 am. Because the work is taking place in the center of the intersection, DOT officials have set up detours for traffic on US 301 and US 70.
All the work will be completed by 6:00 am Friday.
