The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the origin of a woods fire.
The fire was reported Saturday evening on Corbett Road near Clayton.
A small section of brush was burned before being extinguished by crews from the Clayton Fire Department. Firemen said they detected an odor of kerosene in the area of where the fire started.
No one was around the blaze when they arrived.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is also assisting with the investigation. No injuries were reported.
