SELMA – One person died and another was injured in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 95 in Johnston County. The collision was reported at 12:06pm Sunday in the northbound lanes of I-95 just north of Selma.
According to the State Highway Patrol, a motorcycle occupied by two people was traveling northbound when the driver reported the back tire blew. The driver lost control and both occupants were ejected.
The passenger died at the scene. The driver was transported to WakeMed. Their names have not been released.
No charges are expected to be filed, however the fatal accident still remains under investigation.
