Growth in Johnston County shows no signs of slowing down. In November, the Johnston County Inspections Department issued 111 permits for new single family homes, a 12 percent increase over the same month in 2016.
The average value of a new single family home permitted last month was $174,953.
An additional 14 permits were issued for singlewide mobile homes, 8 doublewide mobile homes, 2 modular homes and two duplexes. No permits were issued in November for townhomes.
The Inspections Department collected $200,408.29 in fees, up from $175,268.95 in Nov. 2016. Inspectors passed 3,967 inspections and failed 964.
