Johnston County, the fastest-growing county in North Carolina, continues to experience exceptional job and population growth. With major employers such as Novo Nordisk, Grifols, VeeTee Foods, Crystal Window & Door, Amazon, Janssen Biotech, and Caterpillar, demand for high-quality housing options has never been greater.
“This marks an important milestone in our master-planned development, bringing the multifamily residential component of Eastfield to fruition,” said Kevin Dougherty, President of AdVenture Development. “We’re proud to welcome The NRP Group to Johnston County and look forward to introducing future residents to the opportunity to live, work, and play at Eastfield.”

Eastfield is a 435-acre, 3-million-square-foot master-planned, mixed-use development designed to integrate business, retail, residential, and community life. If it takes me 20 minutes to get through rush time traffic from this location you are talking about to Smithfield, how do you expect me to get to Raleigh in 30 minutes?
getting close to my families house
Are there multiple families living there or did you mean family’s?
Where will any kids go?? Schools are at or near capacity??
It’s going to be so nice! So close to the shopping center too ❣️
Just what we don’t need.
Where are they building them? By the twin ponds?
Exactly we don’t need this !! their is already to many people moving down here and y’all keep building house’s how about fix our road’s that have been bad for 10+years
on top of that the traffic in Smithfield had been so terrible latley it’s ridiculous it’s starting to look like Raleigh around here people don’t know how 4-ways work or stop light’s and definitely stop sign’s… y’all are going to cause more crashes and definitely more road rage y’all are building houses in flooded area’s and having the people moving down here don’t know that.. getting people from in and out of state to come down and buy a house from 250k to well over 300,000 for a 2 bed 1/2 bath then realize after a few month’s the foundation is cracking or the ceiling and walls starting to have cracks from benson nc to rocky mount nc I have seen so many house get built in flooded areas it’s not right !! it just cause’s the home owner to pay more and more money…. how about the whole fence that fell down for the second time in Smithfield where the new house were built about a year or so ago fix that first
Get your white flags hanging, the Yankees are coming.
Outnumbered again.
More mega housing complexes only bring more traffic, crime, school needs, road improvements , water, sewer, fire department coverage, police…etc etc. etc. Expect your taxes to go up soon. Massive housing never makes things better.
You cannot make it from there to downtown Raleigh in 30 minutes. It takes 15 just to get to I-42 with traffic as it is now, and it will get worse when this is done.
Johnston County continues to sell its soul for tax dollars
I would bet, the developers live in the countryside, house built off the road and is fenced in! Let them build their developments in their areas!
Well, public sewer works great for multi-family housing. And it makes sense to bundle together shopping, medical offices and housing, especially so close to a major thoroughfare. I really don’t love the idea of all the extra traffic and influx of people, but the entire project makes logical sense.
The apartments shown in the photo have a 1980’s Section 8 vibe to them. Hopefully NRP Group will use modern colors and exterior styles. If they are going to build them here, I hope they at least make them attractive.
All this is Trump’s concept for affordable housing. You wanted him; you get this.
Get help…..please
You’re right about affordable housing but Trump has only been in office for 9-1/2 months. This was planned and started well before that.
How is it always being the smartest person in the room? Sheesh, Beans. How do you manage it?
Why not build something for the kids so we don’t always have to go far to have a good time! Joco needs an updated bowling alley, something like stars & stripes! Frankie’s, even a trampoline park!
I understand the Johnston County has been growing within the last 10-15+ years. But, why you want to build more housing/apartments; but, yet people are having trying to pay for stuff like rent, groceries, household needs, medical (health insurance, doctors visits, medicine, daycare) and other stuff you can think of and are income are much smaller than an ant colony. Their rent probably be about $1500.00 to $2500.00, it’s just crazy.
