SMITHFIELD – A bid has been awarded to resurface the pool decks in the aquatics area at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center (SRAC).
The surface of the pools decks has become worn and slick due to use and is a safety concern, according to the Parks and Recreation department.
Three bids were received for the resurfacing. Sundeck of North Carolina was the low bidder at $46,052.
Based on the joint user agreement for the SRAC, Johnston County Public Schools will pay half the cost.
