Authorities Locate Body Of Missing Goldsboro Man
WAYNE COUNTY — Authorities on Thursday located the body of a Goldsboro man who had been missing for more than a week, ending a multi-agency search effort in Wayne County.
The body of Justin Maurice Bright, who was last seen on Oct. 22 near La Grange, was found during a coordinated search involving several law enforcement agencies.
Investigators from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, and Mount Olive Police Department searched an area off Durham Lake Road on Thursday afternoon. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deployed a helicopter, and Bright was located shortly after its arrival.
Bright’s body has been sent to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
