Law enforcement officers discovered a break-in this morning (Wednesday) after responding to a burglar alarm at the Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site.
The alarm call came in at 3:34AM. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to the historic site at 5466 Harper House Road, Four Oaks in the Bentonville community. After arriving, deputies discovered a side door to the Harper House had been broken in. The suspect or suspects had fled before officers arrived.
No items were reported missing but damage to the door was estimated at $500. The break-in remains under investigation.
